New Tianwang Temple Introduction

The "New Heavenly King Temple" in Shazitan, located south of Yu Cheng City, is dedicated to the worship of Li Wang Da Qian Sui, Pan Gu Wan Sui (Da Wang Gong), and Tian Wang Qian Sui. Established in the 15th year of the Guangxu era (1889), it was originally named Da Wang Gong Temple. During the "Jha-Jia-Nan Incident" in the Taisho era (1915), it was used by the Japanese as a "village." The current magnificent structure was built in the 79th year of the Republic of China. Inside the temple, there is a Loyalty and Righteousness Wall, depicting poems by the San Wang brothers, which has become a scenic feature. The charitable pavilion built through contributions from devotees of the New Heavenly King Temple was completed on May 17, 2009. The walls of the pavilion record the benevolent spirit of good-hearted individuals and pay tribute to Mr. Xu Qingxi's virtuous deeds, with his teachings inscribed within the pavilion, capturing his inner journey and his caring guidance for the younger generation, allowing those destined to cultivate the path to comprehend and follow.
