Douwu Taiping Old Street in Douliu City, Yunlin County, is known for its old-style Western-style buildings featuring Baroque architecture. Along the street, you can find traditional Taiwanese delicacies such as egg rice, round ice, meatballs, and squid soup, which often attract foreign tourists and evoke a nostalgic charm beloved by older generations. Taiping Old Street is located on Taiping Road and stretches approximately 600 meters. Taiping Road has always been the main shopping street in Douliu, and the unique architectural style of the buildings predominantly showcases Baroque elements. Established during the Japanese colonial period, these structures have a history of over 90 years. Each building is two stories high, with some even engraved with family surnames, adorned with exquisite and vivid decorative patterns on the walls and facades. This not only showcases the aesthetic beauty of the architecture but also signifies the legacy of prominent families.
