Taiping Old Street Introduction
Duliu Taiping Old Street features historic Western-style buildings predominantly designed in the Baroque architectural style. Along the streets, visitors can find traditional Taiwanese delicacies such as egg rice, round ice, meatballs, and squid soup, attracting many foreign tourists seeking its nostalgic charm preferred by senior citizens. Taiping Old Street is located on Taiping Road in Douliu City, Yunlin County, stretching approximately 600 meters. Taiping Road has always been the main shopping street of Douliu, and the buildings on the old street exhibit Baroque style, established during the Japanese colonial period, with over 90 years of history. Each building is two stories high, and some houses are engraved with family surnames, adorned with exquisite and vivid decorative patterns on walls and facades, not only showcasing architectural beauty but also representing the heritage of distinguished families.
