Taitung Old Street in Douliou City, Yunlin County, features a rich assortment of Baroque-style old Western-style buildings. Along the streets, you can find traditional Taiwanese delicacies like egg rice, taro balls ice, meatballs, and squid soup, which attract many international tourists. The atmosphere is also filled with the nostalgic flavors that elderly locals cherish. Taitung Old Street is located on Taiping Road in Douliou City, stretching approximately 600 meters. Taiping Road has always been the main shopping street in Douliou, and the architectural features of the old street predominantly showcase Baroque styles, dating back over 90 years from the Japanese colonial period. Each building is two stories high, with some featuring family surnames beautifully carved into the walls, adorned with exquisite and lifelike decorative patterns.
