Huwei Matsu Temple Introduction
Yuyi Mazu, the emergency rescue deity sheltering the community, is commonly known as the Erma Temple by locals. The worship of Mazu originates from the Tianhou Temple in the Shanshang District of Tainan, specifically from Yuyi Tian Shang Sheng Mu (not Lin Mo Niang). During the Ghost Festival on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, the altar for the Western District's Pu Du ceremony is set up in front of the Tianhou Temple, attracting many domestic and international tourists.
