Longguo Trail Introduction
The Ecological Dragon Backbone Trail is said to have its name from the mountain ridge that resembles the back of a dragon when viewed from a high point. The trail has three access points and is a popular route with spacious views. It is rich in ecology; during the Chingming Festival, you can see purple butterflies fluttering, while on regular days, you may spot Formosan blue magpies and Taiwanese macaques passing through. The Longguo Pulse Forest Trail is located within Linnei Township, near Linnei Park, with a total length of approximately 4.2 kilometers. It is one of the top hundred trails recommended by the Forestry Bureau and has three access points: the Tieguan Keng section, the Luokeng section, and the Pingding section entrance. The Linnei Mountain Range is surrounded by Caoling and Zhushan Township in Nantou County. It is said that when viewed from the boundary between Caoling and Zhushan, the mountain ridges within Linnei resemble the back of a dragon, and as the gaze shifts to the confluence of the Zhuoshui River and the Qingshui River, it appears as if the dragon is drinking water, thus the name "Dragon Pulse."
