Jianqun Village Introduction
Quiet Footprints of Life: The Jian Guo Community, surrounded by lush greenery and a tranquil environment, has preserved the barracks converted from stables dating back to the Japanese colonial period. The historical scars from artillery bombardments in earlier years remain evident, and with the addition of art and cultural markets, entering this cultural heritage site feels like stepping into a drama, allowing for both enjoyment and nostalgia. Located in Huwei Township, Yunlin County, the Jian Guo Community is a uniquely cultural and poetically vibrant enclave, with fresh and quiet surroundings resembling a forest park. Additionally, it features barracks converted from stables during the Japanese colonial period and historical traces of artillery fire nearby, bearing witness to countless generations of life. The Jian Guo Community originated in 1938 during World War II when Huwei was selected as a military base for the Navy Air Force. In 1943, due to urgent wartime needs, the Japanese military used "Jian Guo Community" as a combat base and trained the Kamikaze special attack units. After Japan's defeat, the Nationalist Government relocated to Taiwan and used this area as a military fortress.
