Located in Huwei Township, Yunlin County, Jianguo Military Village boasts a unique and poetic cultural setting, resembling a forest park with its fresh and serene surroundings. Jianguo Military Village originated during World War II in 1938 when Huwei was chosen as a military base for the Navy Air Force. In 1943, due to the urgency of the war, the Japanese military established Jianguo Military Village as a strategic base and trained the Kamikaze pilots here. After Japan's defeat, the Nationalist government relocated to Taiwan and used this area as a military stronghold.
