Yu Er Ma, the emergency rescue deity at the Huwei Tianhou Temple, is locally known as the Er Ma Temple. The worship of Mazu here originates from the Tianhou Temple in the Shanshang District of Tainan, which venerates the "Jade Empress of Heaven" (not Lin Mo Niang). On the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, during the Huwei Ghost Festival, the altar for the Western District's public offerings is set up in front of the Tianhou Temple, attracting many domestic and international tourists.

Huwei Tiangong Temple Introduction

Yuyuma, the emergency rescue deity, is also known as the Erma Temple by locals at the Huwei Mazu Temple. The incense of Mazu comes from the Yuyutian Shang Shengmu at the Tianhou Temple in the Sanxia District of Tainan (not Lin Mo-Niang). During the Ghost Festival on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, the altar for the Huwei Zhongyuan Festival is set up in front of the Tianhou Temple courtyard, attracting many domestic and international tourists.
