Paper Fire Tree Memorial Museum Introduction

Since the Eastern Han dynasty, when Cai Lun used tree bark, hemp floss, and rags to make paper, the technology has evolved gradually to create various exquisite types of paper. Mr. Chen Shuhuo, the founder of Changchun Cotton Paper Factory, has been rooted in business for decades and felt the regret that "paper, which is nurtured in Chinese culture, has not been fully promoted in modern times." He thus vowed to establish a paper museum. After five years of preparations, the Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum officially opened to the public in October 1995. The first floor is divided into a shop and a handmade paper demonstration factory, selling various contemporary design-related products and periodically launching themed items. The demonstration factory simulates the handmade paper manufacturing process for visitors to understand. The second floor currently serves as an exhibition space, accepting exhibition applications from all sectors. The third floor is a scientific experiment area for paper, where parents and children can learn about paper through interactive activities and sensory experiences. The fourth floor is a paper-making experience area where everyone can personally make a sheet of paper to take home. This area also promotes recycled paper and environmental education, encouraging the appreciation of Earth's resources.
