Tree Fire Memorial Paper Museum Introduction

Since the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cai Lun used tree bark, hemp, and old cloth to make paper. With the evolution of technology, it has gradually been improved into various exquisite types of paper. Mr. Chen Shuhuo, the founder of Changchun Cotton Paper Factory, has been entrenched in the business for several decades and felt a sense of regret that "paper, which is rooted in Chinese culture, has not been promoted in modern times." Therefore, he vowed to create a paper museum. After five years of preparation, the Shuhuo Memorial Paper Museum officially opened to the public in October 1995. The first floor is divided into a shop and a handmade paper demonstration factory, selling various contemporary design-related products and regularly launching themed products. The demonstration factory simulates the handmade paper-making process for visitors to understand. The second floor currently serves as an exhibition space, accepting exhibition applications from all sectors. The third floor is a scientific experiment zone for paper, where families can learn about paper through interactive activities and sensory experiences. The fourth floor is a paper-making experience area where everyone can personally make a piece of paper to take home. This area also promotes recycled paper and environmental education, encouraging the appreciation of Earth's resources.
