Gongsi Tianxi Bicycle Path Introduction
Gongsi River, commonly known as Beitou River, is named after flowing through Gongsi Field. It was previously called Linzi River and humorously referred to as the "Mother River of Tamsui." The area around Gongsi River was formerly known as "Dazhuang," and along the route are remnants of Tamsui's development history. It can be said to be the earliest cultivated land for Han people in northern Taiwan, dating back to the Dutch colonial period. The right bank section of Gongsi River is located at the northernmost end of the Tamsui Golden Waterway Bicycle Path, serving as the main passage to the embankment of Tamsui New Town for viewing the sea. It is approximately 1.2 kilometers long. With the opening of the Tamsui Light Rail Blue Line last year, many tourists access the embankment from Section 3 of Binhai Road or cross the "Blue Ocean Bridge" from the left bank to enjoy stunning sunset views. The Blue Ocean Bridge not only spans the picturesque Gongsi River but also provides direct views of the Taiwan Strait connecting to the sea. Next to V10 Tamsui New Town Station, the Haewei Bike Path, known for capturing "sunsets," is a popular spot for social media enthusiasts. Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll by the beach or enjoy cycling while feeling the sea breeze, the bike paths around Tamsui Light Rail are a great choice.
