Gongsi Tianxi Bicycle Path Introduction
The Gongsitu Stream, commonly known as Beitou Stream, is named after its flow through Gongsitu. It was previously referred to as Linzi Stream and is playfully nicknamed "the Mother River of Tamsui." The area around Gongsitu Stream was historically known as "Dazhuang," and along its banks lie remnants of the development history of Tamsui, representing one of the earliest cultivated lands by Han Chinese in northern Taiwan, dating back to the Dutch colonial period. The right bank section of the Gongsitu Stream is located at the northern end of the Tamsui Golden Waterside Cycling Path, serving as the main passage to the Dahan New Town embankment, offering scenic ocean views with a total length of about 1.2 kilometers. With the opening of the Tamsui Light Rail Blue Sea Line last year, many tourists travel from Section 3 of Coastal Road or cross the "Blue Sea Bridge" from the left bank to the embankment to enjoy beautiful sunset views. The Blue Sea Bridge not only spans the picturesque Gongsitu Stream but also provides a direct view of the Taiwan Strait connecting to the sea. Adjacent to V10 Tamsui New Town Station, the Hawei Bicycle Path is famous for capturing sunset photos, and the "Spectacular Sea Avenue" has become a must-visit spot for social media enthusiasts. Whether you want a leisurely stroll by the seaside or to enjoy the fun of cycling while being refreshed by sea breezes, the bike paths around the Tamsui Light Rail are an excellent choice.
