Gongsi Tianshui Bicycle Path Introduction
Kongsi Tian Stream, commonly known as Beitou Stream, is named after its flow through Kongsi Tian. It was formerly referred to as Linzi Stream and is humorously dubbed the "Mother River of Tamsui." The area along Kongsi Tian Stream was once called "Dazhuang," and is filled with remnants of Tamsui's development history, marking one of the earliest settlements of Han Chinese in northern Taiwan, dating back to the Dutch colonial period. The right bank section of Kongsi Tian Stream is located at the northern end of the Tamsui Golden Waterfront Bicycle Path, serving as a main passage to the Tamsui New Town embankment for enjoying sea views, with a length of approximately 1.2 kilometers. Since the opening of the Tamsui Light Rail Blue Sea Line last year, many tourists have accessed the embankment to admire the sunset views via Section 3 of the Coastal Road or by crossing the "Blue Sea Bridge" from the left bank. The Blue Sea Bridge not only spans the picturesque Kongsi Tian Stream but also offers a direct view of the Taiwan Strait leading to the sea. The "Guanhai Avenue," located next to the V10 Tamsui New Town Station beside the Haiwei Bicycle Path, has gained some fame for capturing the "sunset," making it a must-take photo spot for Instagram enthusiasts. Whether you want to enjoy a leisurely walk by the sea or the fun of cycling while feeling the sea breeze, the bicycle paths around Tamsui Light Rail are definitely a great choice.
