Gongsi Tianxi Bicycle Path Introduction
The Kongsi Tian Creek, commonly known as Beitou Creek, is named after the area it flows through. In the past, it was also referred to as Linzi Creek and is humorously dubbed the "Mother River of Tamsui." The area around Kongsi Tian Creek was formerly called "Dazhuang," and it is lined with relics of Tamsui's development history, making it one of the earliest cultivated areas by Han people in northern Taiwan, dating back to the Dutch colonial period. The right bank section of Kongsi Tian Creek is located at the northern end of the Tamsui Golden Coast Bicycle Path, serving as the main pathway to Tamsui-Resort New Town's embankment for viewing the scenic ocean. This section is approximately 1.2 kilometers long. Since the opening of the Tamsui Light Rail Blue Line last year, many visitors come from Section 3 of Coastal Road or cross the "Blue Sea Bridge" from the left bank to enjoy the beautiful sunset along the embankment. The Blue Sea Bridge not only spans the picturesque Kongsi Tian Creek but also provides a direct view of the Taiwan Strait, connecting to the sea. The Haiwei Zi Bicycle Path, located next to the V10 Tamsui-Resort New Town Station, has gained some fame for its ability to capture "sunsets" and is a must-visit spot for Instagram enthusiasts. For those looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll by the sea or want to experience the fun of cycling while feeling the sea breeze, the bicycle paths around Tamsui Light Rail are the perfect choice.
