The Gongsitian Creek, commonly known as Beitou Creek, is named after flowing through Gongsitian. It was previously called Linzi Creek and is affectionately referred to as the "Mother River of Tamsui." The area along Gongsitian Creek was historically known as "Dazhuang" and is filled with relics from Tamsui's development history, marking it as one of the earliest cultivation areas for Han Chinese in northern Taiwan, dating back to the Dutch colonial period. The right bank section of Gongsitian Creek is located at the northernmost end of the Tamsui Golden Water Front Cycling Path, serving as a main route to enjoy the seaside views at the Tamsui-New Town dike, with a total length of about 1.2 kilometers. Following the opening of the Tamsui Light Rail Blue Line last year, many visitors take the coastal road three sections or cross the "Blue Sea Bridge" from the left bank to enjoy the beautiful sunset views at the dike. The Blue Sea Bridge not only crosses the scenic Gongsitian Creek but also provides a direct view of the Taiwan Strait connecting to the estuary. The Haiwei Cycling Path next to V10 Tamsui New Town Station is known for its ability to capture the "sunset" and has become a popular spot for Instagram-worthy photos. It is perfect for those who want to enjoy a leisurely stroll by the beach or the fun of cycling while feeling the sea breeze; you can't go wrong spending time on the cycling paths around Tamsui Light Rail.

Gongsi Tianshe Bicycle Path Introduction

The Gongsi River, commonly known as Beitou River, is named after the area it flows through, Gongsi Tian. In the past, it was also referred to as Linzi River and humorously called the "Mother River of Tamsui." The area around Gongsi River was formerly known as "Dazhuang," and is filled with remnants of Tamsui's development history, which can be considered the earliest settlement in northern Taiwan by Han Chinese, dating back to the period of Dutch rule. The section on the right bank of the Gongsi River is located at the northern end of the Tamsui Golden Waterfront Bicycle Path, serving as the main route to the Tamsui New Town embankment for sea views, stretching approximately 1.2 kilometers. With the opening of the Tamsui Light Rail Blue Line last year, many visitors access the embankment to enjoy the sunset view by crossing the "Blue Sea Bridge" from Section 3 of Coastal Road or from the left bank. The Blue Sea Bridge not only spans the picturesque "Gongsi River," but also offers a direct view of the Taiwan Strait connecting to the river mouth. Located next to the V10 Tamsui New Town Station, the canal bike path known as "Guanhai Avenue" is famous for capturing the "sunset" and is a popular spot for Instagram enthusiasts. Whether you want to take a leisurely walk by the seaside or enjoy the fun of cycling while feeling the sea breeze, the bicycle paths near the Tamsui Light Rail are the perfect choice.
