Shuishah Bikeway Introduction
The entrance to the Shui She Lakeside Trail is located to the left of the Shui She Pier, serving as an important pedestrian route connecting Shui She Pier to the Jiulongkou area. The entire trail features accessible sloped paths, making it ideal for families with children. The walk is flat and easy, following a wooden boardwalk along the edge of the lake, leading directly to Jiulongkou via the Chaowu Pier. The pathway is lush with greenery, providing a cool respite even during the peak summer heat. There are rest points along the way for visitors to take a break or lean over the railing to enjoy the view of yachts gliding across the lake. On the calm surface of the lake, sunlight reflects off the water, creating a shimmering effect that resembles countless pieces of gold and silver scattered in the lake. When mist hangs in the air, the Xuanzang Temple on the Qingshan Mountain appears like an ancient temple in a traditional Chinese painting, evoking feelings of nostalgia. Meanwhile, the Cien Pagoda on the Shabalan Mountain stands watch from its summit, resembling a sword protecting Sun Moon Lake from every angle along the trail. Upon reaching Jiulongkou, there are artificial floating islands filled with wild ginger flowers on the lake, where you might occasionally spot a night heron hiding beneath the foliage, poised to hunt for food. If you still have the interest and energy, you can continue to the Wenwu Temple's stairway trail or ascend to Zhu Shiyuan on the opposite side for another adventure. At night, the view of Shui She Pier from the trail offers a dazzling sight of the twinkling lights from hotels and restaurants, resembling a glittering array of colorful gems against the darkness.
