Shui She Bicycle Path Introduction
The entrance to the Shuishan Waterside Trail is located to the left of Shuishan Pier, serving as an important pedestrian pathway connecting Shuishan Pier to Jiulongkou. The entire trail is equipped with accessible ramps, making it very suitable for family outings. It is smooth and easy to walk, running along the wooden boardwalk by the lake, directly reaching Jiulongkou via Chaowu Pier. The trail is lush with green trees, helping to keep it cool even in the summer heat. Along the way, there are rest areas for visitors to take a break or to enjoy the view over the railing, admiring the yachts passing through the lake or the calm water reflecting the sunlight, shimmering as if countless gold and silver were dropped into the lake. On misty days, the Xuanzang Temple on the Qingshan Mountain appears like an ancient temple in a traditional Chinese painting, evoking a sense of nostalgia; while on Shabalan Mountain, the Ci'en Pagoda can be seen standing atop the hill from any angle on the trail, like a sword guarding Sun Moon Lake. Upon reaching Jiulongkou, there are artificial floating islands filled with wild ginger flowers on the lake, where you might occasionally spot a night heron hiding among the flowers, poised to hunt for food. If you have the interest and stamina, you can continue on to the Wufeng Temple Steps or ascend to the opposite Zhu-Shih Garden for another part of your journey. At night, the lights of hotels and restaurants at Shuishan Pier twinkle in the distance from the trail, appearing like colorful gemstones, more dazzling against the backdrop of the night sky.
