Songbailun Trail Introduction
Songbolun was once the route for the ancestors of the Shao people to travel back and forth to Puli for collecting rents. It is also an important site for the ancestral spirit worship of the Yuan clan. Before the water was retained in Sun Moon Lake, it served as a significant salt collection pathway, with sculptures of porters placed along the path by the lakeside. The trailhead is located between Wenwu Temple and Peacock Garden, leading through a winding path in dense forest to the observation deck, where visitors can enjoy the native flora, insect and bird ecology, and the floating fields and fishing boats by the lake.
