Shigupang Scenic Bridge Introduction
Due to the 921 earthquake, traffic in Fengshan became inconvenient. To connect the village to external tourist roads, over 170 million NTD was spent, and the project was finally completed in 2007. Subsequent construction included the completion of scenic facilities and surrounding green beautification projects, along with the planning of themed tourist attractions. The bridge is designed as a single-span cable-stayed steel arch bridge, measuring 140 meters in length, with no middle support and using caisson foundations on both sides. The central suspender separates two lanes of traffic in each direction and a pedestrian walkway. The approach roads on both ends stretch for 280 meters and have a clear width of 7.5 meters, making it the longest span bridge in Chiayi County, connecting to the nearby Debris Flow Park. The night lighting of the bridge changes dynamically, crossing the valley and illuminating the tranquil gorge, captivating visitors. Fengshan, the highest flatland village in Taiwan, boasts magnificent views of mountains, streams, and giant rocks. The opening of the Shigupan Scenic Bridge not only facilitates transportation but also allows more people to explore this bountiful natural beauty and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the area.
