Shigu Pan Tourist Bridge Introduction
Due to the 921 Earthquake, Fengshan's transportation was inconvenient. To connect the village with tourist roads, over NT$170 million was spent, and it was finally completed in 2007. Subsequently, bridge landscape facilities and surrounding greening projects were completed, and themed tourist attractions were planned. The bridge is designed as a single-span suspension arch bridge, measuring 140 meters in length, with no piers in the middle. The bridge abutments on both sides have a submerged box foundation, with a central suspension cable separating one lane for two-way traffic and a pedestrian walkway. The approach roads at both ends extend 280 meters, with a clear width of 7.5 meters, making it the longest span bridge in Chiayi County, connecting to the nearby Debris Flow Park. The bridge's night lighting, which changes in various colors, crosses over the valley and illuminates the tranquil mountain valley, creating a stunning sight. Fengshan, the highest plain farming village in Taiwan, boasts breathtaking views of mountains, flowing water, and giant rocks. The opening of the Shigupan Scenic Bridge not only improved transportation but also allowed more people to immerse themselves in the rich natural beauty and appreciate the local cultural richness.
