Shigupang Scenic Bridge Introduction
Due to the 921 earthquake, transportation in Fengshan became inconvenient. To connect to the tourist roads outside the village, an investment of over 170 million NTD was made, and it was finally completed in 2007. Subsequently, the scenic facilities of the bridge and surrounding green beautification projects were gradually completed, and themed tourist attractions were planned. The bridge is designed as a single-span cable-stayed steel arch bridge, 140 meters long, with no piers in the middle. The bridge abutments on both sides use box foundation, with central suspensions separating one lane in each direction and a pedestrian walkway. The approach spans at both ends are 280 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, making it the longest span bridge in Chiayi County, connecting to the nearby Debris Flow Park. The bridge features changing lights at night that cross the valley, illuminating the tranquil gorge and capturing the eyes of passersby. Fengshan, the highest flatland farming village in Taiwan, boasts magnificent scenery with mountains, flowing water, and giant rocks. The opening of the Shigupan Tourist Bridge not only facilitated transportation but also allowed more people to explore this rich natural beauty and appreciate the local cultural richness.
