Shiguphan Tourist Bridge Introduction
Due to the 921 earthquake, Fengshan faced inconvenient external transportation. To connect with external scenic roads, over NT$170 million was spent, and it was finally completed in 2007. Subsequently, landscape facilities for the bridge and surrounding green beautification projects were finished, along with the planning of themed sightseeing spots. The bridge is designed as a single-span cable-stayed steel arch bridge, measuring 140 meters in length, with no intermediate piers. The abutments on both sides are built on caisson foundations. The central cables separate one lane in each direction and a pedestrian walkway. The approach spans on both ends are 280 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, making it the longest span bridge in Chiayi County, connecting to the nearby Debris Flow Park. At night, the bridge's ever-changing lights span across the valley, illuminating the tranquil mountains and catching people's eyes. Fengshan, the highest flatland village in Taiwan, boasts stunning scenery with mountains, flowing water, and giant rocks. The opening of the Shigupan Scenic Bridge not only improved transportation but also allowed more people to step into this bountiful natural beauty, savoring the rich cultural colors of the local area.
