Fengzhig National Forest Recreation Area Introduction

Fengjie National Forest Recreation Area is located in Baoshan Village, Taoyuan District, covering an area of 770 hectares and reaching an altitude between 1,500 meters and 1,804 meters. It boasts a rich alpine forest ecosystem, with various plants such as maple, cedar, cherry, plum, and two-leaf pine. The changing seasons provide diverse scenic views that captivate visitors, making it one of the best-preserved natural broadleaf forests in Taiwan. The average annual temperature is about 17 degrees Celsius, with a small temperature range, giving it a cool climate ideal for summer retreat, earning it the nickname "Little Xikou in Southern Taiwan." In addition to towering trees, many different flowers are also planted, showcasing diverse landscapes throughout the seasons. The area has multiple trails for visitors to choose based on their fitness levels, and the observation platforms offering distant views of Yushan, Xueshan, Beidawushan, and Beinanzhushan are among the most popular attractions. Fengjie is not only an excellent spot for forest bathing, hiking, flower viewing, and birdwatching, but also a great venue for natural ecology education. A recommended stay is about three hours. Large buses are prohibited in the park, and entry requires prior application through the official website.
