Tengjhih National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Fengzhong National Forest Recreation Area is located in Baoshan Village, Taoyuan District, covering an area of 770 hectares, with an elevation ranging from 1,500 to 1,804 meters. It boasts a rich alpine forest ecosystem, with various plants such as maples, cedar, cherry, plum, and two-leaf pines planted throughout the area. The diverse scenery changes with the seasons, making it a captivating place, and it is one of the best-preserved natural broadleaf forests in Taiwan. The average annual temperature is around 17 degrees Celsius, with a small temperature difference and a cool climate, making it an excellent summer retreat, often referred to as the "Little Xizi Head of Southern Taiwan." In addition to the towering trees, many different flowers are also planted, showcasing various charms throughout the seasons. The area is equipped with multiple trails for visitors to choose from based on their physical abilities, and the lookouts offering views of Yushan, Xiaoguanshan, Beidawu Mountain, and Beinanzhushan are must-visit spots in the area. Fengzhong is not only the best place for forest bathing, hiking, sightseeing, and birdwatching, but it is also an excellent site for natural ecological education. It is recommended to spend about 3 hours here. The park prohibits large tour buses, and visitors must apply on its official website before entering.
