Fengjiagou National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Tengjhih National Forest Recreation Area is located in Baoshan Village, Taoyuan District, covering an area of 770 hectares with an elevation ranging from 1,500 to 1,804 meters. It boasts a rich alpine forest ecosystem, hosting various plants such as maple, cedar, cherry, plum, and two-leaf pine. The scenery changes with the seasons, providing diverse visual delights that captivate visitors. It is one of the best-preserved natural broadleaf forests in Taiwan. The average annual temperature is around 17 degrees Celsius, with small temperature variations, making it a cool summer retreat, often referred to as the "Xitou of Southern Taiwan." In addition to towering trees, the area also features a variety of flowers that exhibit different charms throughout the seasons. Several trails are planned for visitors to choose from based on their fitness levels, and the scenic viewpoints overlooking Yushan, Dasha and Xiaoguan Mountains, Beidawu Mountain, and Beinanshan are among the most popular must-visit spots in the area. Tengjhih is not only the ideal location for activities such as forest bathing, hiking, sightseeing, and birdwatching, but also serves as an excellent place for natural ecological education. It is recommended to spend about three hours here. Note that the park prohibits the entry of type A and B large buses, and visitors must apply in advance through the official website to enter the area.
