Feng Yeh National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Fengyi National Forest Recreation Area is located in Baoshan Village, Taoyuan District, covering an area of 770 hectares, with an elevation ranging from 1,500 to 1,804 meters. It boasts a rich alpine forest ecosystem, featuring a variety of plants such as maple, fir, cherry, plum, and two-leaf pine. The scenery changes with the seasons, presenting a diverse and captivating landscape that invites visitors to linger. It is one of the best-preserved natural broadleaf forests in Taiwan. The average annual temperature is about 17 degrees Celsius, with small temperature variations, making it a cool and excellent summer retreat, often referred to as "Little Xikou in Southern Taiwan." In addition to towering trees, many different flowers are also planted, showcasing different seasonal beauty. The area has several trails for visitors to choose from based on their physical abilities, and the observation platforms offering distant views of Yushan, Mount D大小關, North Dawu Mountain, and the main peak of Beinan are some of the most popular attractions in the park. Fengyi is not only the best place for forest bathing, hiking, flower viewing, and observing insects and birds, but it is also an excellent venue for natural ecology education. A recommended stay time is about 3 hours, and large passenger buses are prohibited from entering the park; entry requires prior application through the official website.
