Kinmen County Ceramics Factory Introduction
The Kinmen County Ceramics Factory, located beside the Island Circumference South Road, was established in 1963 and is currently the only official kiln in Taiwan. Using high-quality porcelain clay as raw material and the skillful painting of artisans, it creates a model of Kinmen ceramics. The porcelain produced by the Kinmen County Ceramics Factory is primarily used to hold the renowned Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor, making it a sought-after collection for wine enthusiasts both domestically and internationally. The factory has introduced various techniques, particularly the stunning celadon decorated with floral and landscape motifs, as well as intricate monochrome glazes. It features a ceramics museum that showcases a variety of ceramics, housing hundreds of ceramic treasures, and offers products for sale—don't forget to stop by the factory for a visit and purchase. Visitors can make reservations to observe the production of liquor bottles, gaining in-depth knowledge of the ceramic-making process, including molding, slip casting, trimming, bisque firing, glazing, glaze firing, applying decoration, and kiln firing. After painting, these processes result in unique works of art. Guests can also experience DIY activities such as hand-throwing, painting, clay shaping, and applying decoration, feeling the joy of working with ceramics firsthand.
