Kinmen County Ceramics Factory Introduction
Located beside the South Island Road, the Kinmen County Ceramic Factory was established in 1963 and is the only official kiln in the country. Using high-quality porcelain clay as raw material and the artistry of skilled craftsmen for decoration, it has created a model of Kinmen ceramics. The porcelain produced by the Kinmen County Ceramic Factory is primarily used to hold the renowned Kinmen Kaoliang liquor, making it a sought-after collectible among wine lovers both domestically and internationally. The factory has introduced various techniques, notably stunning celadon with floral and landscape paintings and intricately crafted plain-colored glazes. The factory features a ceramic museum displaying a variety of ceramics with a collection of hundreds of exquisite pieces, along with product sales. Don't forget to visit and shop at the ceramic factory. Visitors can schedule a tour to observe the making of wine bottles and gain a deeper understanding of the ceramic process, which includes mold-making, slip pouring, trimming, bisque firing, glazing, glaze firing, decal application, and kiln firing, all culminating in hand-painting unique pieces. Additionally, visitors can experience DIY activities such as wheel throwing, painting, hand-building, and applying decals, allowing them to personally enjoy the fun of working with clay.
