Kinmen County Ceramic Factory Introduction
Located beside the Circle Island South Road, the Kinmen County Ceramic Factory was established in 1963 and is currently the only official kiln in Taiwan. Using high-quality clay as raw material and the craftsmanship of artisans for painting, it has become a model of Kinmen ceramics. The porcelain produced by the Kinmen County Ceramic Factory is primarily used to hold the famous Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor, making it a sought-after collectible among wine enthusiasts both domestically and internationally. The factory introduces various techniques, with stunning blue-green porcelain decorated with floral and landscape motifs, as well as intricately crafted plain glazes. The factory also houses a ceramic museum that showcases various ceramics and treasures hundreds of ceramic masterpieces. Visitors can book a tour to observe the production of liquor bottles, gaining an in-depth understanding of the ceramic process from modeling, pouring, trimming, bisque firing, glazing, glaze firing, decal application, to kiln firing, followed by the final painting, transforming into unique works of art.
