Kinmen Ceramics Factory Introduction
Located beside the South Island Road, the Kinmen Ceramics Factory was established in 1963 and is currently the only official kiln in Taiwan. Using high-quality porcelain clay as raw material and the craftsmanship of artists for painting, it has created a benchmark for Kinmen ceramics. The porcelain produced by the Kinmen Ceramics Factory is mainly used to hold the renowned Kinmen Kaoliang liquor, a collectible item pursued by wine lovers both domestically and internationally. It has introduced various techniques, particularly stunning celadon with floral, bird, and landscape paintings, as well as intricately crafted solid-colored glazes. The factory also features a ceramics museum showcasing various ceramics, with a collection of hundreds of ceramic treasures available for purchase. When visiting the ceramics factory, don't forget to explore and shop. Visitors can make reservations to observe the production of wine bottles, gaining an in-depth understanding of the processes including modeling, slip casting, trimming, bisque firing, glazing, glaze firing, decal application, and kiln firing. Afterward, through the painting process, they become unique works. Additionally, visitors can experience DIY activities such as wheel throwing, painting, kneading clay, and applying decals, allowing them to enjoy the fun of working with ceramics.
