Rev. Paul F. S. L. Lo Memorial Park Introduction
Father Robert Taien Luo arrived in Kinmen in 1954 due to the impact of conflicts. He settled in Kinmen and participated in the work of treating the wounded during the artillery battles, dedicating his life’s energy to improve the medical techniques and equipment that were lacking at the time. The Father Luo Memorial Park, located by the shore of Tai Lake in Jincheng Township, is the site of the "Catholic Church" where Father Luo treated the local people. After the priest's passing, the site fell into disrepair due to neglect. To commemorate Father Luo's contributions to Kinmen, a quaint Roman arch plaza was established on-site to create the atmosphere of a European town, with pure white spreading over the church walls and a white gravel path guiding visitors to the entrance. Although currently only the front view of the church conveys its significance, it still reflects Kinmen's respect for Father Luo.
