Father Lobo Park Introduction
Father Roberto Baottan arrived in Kinmen in 1954 due to the impacts of war and settled there, participating in the work of treating the injured during the shelling. He dedicated his life to improving the medical technology and equipment for the local people of Kinmen, which were quite lacking at that time. The Roberto Baottan Memorial Park, located by the shore of Lake Tai in Jinhu Township, is the site of the "Catholic Church" where Father Roberto provided medical care for the people of Kinmen. After his passing, the site fell into disrepair due to neglect; to commemorate Father Baottan's contributions to Kinmen, a small Roman arch square was established on the original site, creating an ambiance of a European town with pure white extending over the church walls and a white gravel pathway guiding visitors to the entrance. Although currently there is only a visual representation from the front of the church, it does not diminish Kinmen's respect for Father Roberto.
