Father Robert Li Memorial Park Introduction
Father Roberto Tan was affected by the wars and arrived in Kinmen in 1954, where he settled and participated in the treatment of the wounded during the artillery battles. He devoted his lifelong energy to the medical care of the people in Kinmen, which was then suffering from outdated medical technology and equipment. The Roberto Tan Memorial Park, located by the Taihu Lake in Jinhou Township, is the site of the "Catholic Church" where Father Roberto once treated the people of Kinmen. After the priest's passing, the site fell into neglect and disrepair for a long time. To commemorate Father Roberto Tan's contributions to Kinmen, a small Roman arch square was established at the original site, creating an atmosphere of a European town, with pure white spreading across the church walls and a white gravel path leading to the entrance. Although there is currently only a view of the church's facade, it does not diminish Kinmen's respect for Father Roberto.
