Bali Workshop Introduction
This mountain studio shrouded in mist has a beautiful name, "Ba'i," which is an affectionate term for "women" in the Paiwan language, embodying the meaning of "dear." Established after the Morakot Typhoon, it is a women's workshop producing traditional Paiwan ceramic beads. The Morakot Typhoon not only severely impacted the livelihoods in Jialan but also devastated its culture. Feeling the loss of tribal culture due to the disaster, the women established the "Jialan Ba'i Workshop" to revitalize the community's industry. A group of mothers living in the tribe began creating handmade ceramic beads, forming a creative platform similar to a workshop. Under the guidance of consultant Wu Shulun, who has long studied Paiwan culture, they began to explore the cultural creativity of the ceramic bead workshop and initiated research related to product design, gradually developing exquisite ceramic bead craft infused with indigenous cultural spirit.
