Dong Yi Cheng Nostalgic Citrus Store Introduction
Founded in 1959 by Kang Wansheng and Xu Anmian (current owner Grandma A-Mian), "Dong Yicheng Commercial Firm" is a traditional grocery store that sells a wide variety of items including tobacco, alcohol, tea, rice, oil, salt, canned fish, daily necessities, candies, and snacks—offering more varied products than today's convenience stores. The peak period of Dong Yicheng was during the 1960s to 1970s when it served as the Puli terminal for Changhua Bus, where passengers would purchase tickets to Lukang in Changhua. The shop thrived with a bustling clientele. Although modern-day Taiwanese often turn to convenience stores, PX Mart, or hypermarkets for their shopping, these places lack a certain warmth. This personal touch is what motivates Grandma A-Mian to continue running the old shop; she enjoys chatting with young customers and catching up with neighbors. After over 60 years, "Dong Yicheng Commercial Firm" remains a place filled with warmth! Retail of snacks and souvenirs Features: - The only nostalgic grocery store in Puli with a history of 60 years, a warm tourist information center. - The only postal agency in Taiwan named "Dong Yicheng," selling Taiwanese stamps and special albums. - The only cultural and creative souvenir exhibition center at Puli Station, featuring Sun Moon Lake and Puli postcards.
