Mushroom Museum Introduction
The first museum in Taiwan themed around microorganisms, established in January 2011, was planned and founded by the Bailing Biotechnology Group in collaboration with a group of microbiology experts from Taiwan and the United States. It is named "Goo Bao Bei," which is a play on the Taiwanese pronunciation of "very precious," signifying the meaning of microorganisms as "treasures." The initial intention of establishing the museum was to address the general public's partial understanding of the ubiquitous microorganisms in their environment, as well as the common fear and rejection associated with them. Through interactive tours and experiential exploration, we hope to teach the public accurate knowledge about microorganisms, providing a deeper understanding of the microbial world while also conveying that not all microorganisms in nature are harmful; there are various beneficial bacteria that are treasures for humanity.
