Mushroom Museum Introduction
The first museum in Taiwan dedicated to microorganisms, established in January 2011, was planned and set up by the Bioneer Biotechnology Group in collaboration with a group of microbiologists from Taiwan and the United States. The name "Microorganism Treasure" is a play on the Taiwanese pronunciation of "very precious," conveying the idea that microorganisms are "treasures" or "gems." The initial intention of establishing this museum stemmed from the awareness that the general public has only a limited understanding of the ubiquitous microorganisms in their surroundings, often feeling rejection and fear toward them. Through the Microorganism Treasure Museum, we aim to educate the public about correct microbiological knowledge using interactive tours and exploratory experiences, allowing people to gain a deeper understanding of the microbial world. Simultaneously, we want to convey that not all bacteria in the natural environment are harmful; there are also various beneficial bacteria that are precious to humanity.
