Yilan Riverside Park Introduction
During the Japanese rule, the head of the Yilan Office observed that the Yilan River frequently flooded, leading to the construction of embankments to manage the river's course. The abundant water flow at that time reflected the mountains like a painting when viewed from the embankment, earning it a spot among the "Eighteen Delights of Lanyang." Currently, the Yilan River has been developed with facilities such as an athletics field, basketball courts, and baseball fields, and the nearby riverbanks and landscape have been greened. It has become a riverside park, a great place for celebrating events and relaxing or cycling on ordinary days or holidays. The Yilan River bike path, which runs along the embankment, is approximately 15 kilometers long, starting from the riverside park. Along the way, visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Yilan River and pass by attractions such as the Xiyang Hall's Xiande Monument before reaching the endpoint at Yuanshan Park, where one can enjoy leisurely moments. The riverside park, featuring vast green pastures, is not only a popular sports venue for locals but also a favorite spot for tourists, allowing them to clear away all worries and fatigue.
