Yilan Riverside Park Introduction

During the Japanese occupation, the head of Yilan County observed the frequent flooding of the Yilan River and began constructing embankments to manage the river's channels. At that time, the Yilan River had abundant water flow, and standing on the embankment to take in the scenery, one could see the water reflecting the mountains like a beautiful painting, leading it to be selected as one of the Eighteen Scenic Spots of Lanyang. Now, after planning, the Yilan River has started to develop facilities such as an athletics field, basketball court, and baseball field, while also greening the nearby riverbanks and landscape, transforming it into a riverside park that is a great place for festive celebrations as well as a place to relax and ride bikes on regular days and holidays. The Yilan River bike path, planned along the embankment, is approximately 15 kilometers long, starting from the riverside park. Along the way, visitors can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Yilan River, passing by attractions such as the Western Town Hall's Hsien Te Memorial before arriving at the endpoint, Yuanshan Park, to enjoy a leisurely time. The riverside park, with its endless green pastures, is not only a popular sports venue for locals but also a favorite spot for tourists, capable of sweeping away all worries and fatigue.
