Yilan Riverside Park Introduction

During the Japanese colonial period, the head of Yilan County noticed that the Yilan River frequently flooded, so he began to construct embankments to regulate the river. At that time, the water volume of the Yilan River was abundant, and standing on the embankment to view the scenery, one could see the reflection of the mountains on the water surface, resembling a painted screen, which led to its selection as one of the Eighteen Scenic Spots of Lanyang. Currently, after planning, the Yilan River has been developed with facilities such as athletic fields, basketball courts, and baseball fields, as well as greening the nearby riverbanks and landscapes, becoming a riverside park that is a great place for holiday celebrations, as well as a relaxing spot for cycling on weekdays or holidays. The Yilan River bike lane, planned along the embankment, is approximately 15 kilometers long, starting from the riverside park. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Yilan River, passing attractions such as the Xixiang Hall Xiande Monument, and reaching the endpoint at Yuanshan Park to enjoy a leisurely time. The riverside park, with its vast green pastures, is not only a popular sports venue for locals but also a favorite spot for tourists, allowing visitors to sweep away all worries and fatigue.
