Daping Red Bridge Introduction
Following the Sankeng Bicycle Path, you can ride directly to the Dapeng Red Bridge, which was once voted one of the top 100 historical buildings in the country. Located in Sankeng Village, Longtan District, the bridge is named Red Bridge because it is constructed entirely of red bricks. This bridge was built in 1923, initiated by the residents of Dapeng and Sankeng, and constructed with the assistance of the township office (district office) funding, donations from local villagers, and contributions from Japanese benefactors. The construction was handled by the Okura Group using the same clear water bricks as those used in the Taoyuan Irrigation Project.
