Daping Red Bridge Introduction
Following the San Keng Bike Path, you can ride directly to the Daping Red Bridge, which was once selected as one of the top 100 historical buildings in the country. Located in the San Keng neighborhood of Longtan District, it is named "Red Bridge" because the entire structure is built of red bricks. This bridge was constructed in 1923, initiated by the residents of Daping and San Keng, with support from the township office and donations from local villagers, as well as contributions from the Japanese. The construction was undertaken by the Okura Group, using the same clear water bricks as those used in the Taoyuan Dazun project. The bridge spans approximately ten meters, crossing the Datiekeng Stream, and was once the main communication route for the residents of Daping. It features five elegant arches and remains intact to this day. Currently, the area around the Daping Red Bridge has been planned as a waterfront park, making it a great place for leisure activities.
