Daping Red Bridge Introduction
Following the Sunkeng Bike Path, you can directly ride to the Daping Red Bridge, which has been voted as one of the top 100 historical buildings in the country. Located in Sankeng Village, Longtan District, the bridge is named for its red brick construction. Built in 1923, it was initiated by the residents of Daping and Sankeng, with financial support from the township office, donations from local villagers, and contributions from Japanese benefactors. The construction was managed by the Okura Corporation, using the same clear water bricks that were employed for the Taoyuan Dazun project. The bridge spans over ten meters and crosses the Daitiekeng Stream, serving as the main connection for Daping residents. It features five elegant archways and remains in pristine condition to this day. Currently, the area around the Daping Red Bridge has been developed into a waterfront park, making it a great place for leisure activities.
