Jiaanli (Shimen Shiyifen) Introduction
Longtan Shihyifen preserves the dormitory complex where American engineers lived during the construction of the Shimen Reservoir. This 50-year-old building combines Japanese and American styles and features vast grasslands and shady trees, making it one of the famous leisure spots in Taoyuan City. The expansive Shimen Great Lawn in front of the Shimen Reservoir Administration attracts many people of all ages to fly kites, play soccer, or have picnics. Surrounding the area are numerous Macaranga trees and camphor trees that provide shade for visitors. The dormitory area is also planted with many cherry blossom trees, which bloom beautifully every spring. Additionally, the reservoir administration has been the filming location for several Taiwanese films, including "Our Times," "The Tree in the Pond," and "Mayday." The movie "Our Times" was filmed in Jia'an Village, where the female lead's home is situated. Visitors can explore the movie's scenes and reminisce about the nostalgic and humorous storyline! Moreover, the nearby cultural street is a popular dining spot, especially known for its fresh seafood, attracting countless visitors who come to indulge in delicious food, chase stars in Jia'an Village, picnic on the Great Lawn in front of the North District Water Resources Bureau, and fly kites.
