Jiaan Village (Shimen Shifeng) Introduction
Longtan Shih-yin has preserved the dormitory complex where American engineers resided during the construction of the Shimen Dam. This 50-year-old building, which blends Japanese and American architectural styles, is surrounded by vast grasslands and lush trees, making it one of Taoyuan City's popular leisure spots. The Shimen Big Lawn located in front of the Shimen Reservoir Administration is quite spacious, often attracting many children and adults for activities like kite flying, soccer, or picnics. The area is adorned with various trees, including Casuarina and camphor trees, providing shade for visitors to relax. The dormitory area is also planted with numerous cherry blossom trees, which bloom beautifully every spring. Furthermore, the Shimen Reservoir Administration has been the filming location for several Taiwanese films, including "Our Times," "The Tree in the Rains," and "Mayday." The movie "Our Times" was filmed in Jia'an Village, where the protagonist's house is located, making it a great place to visit the scenes from the film and reminisce about its youthful and amusing storylines! Additionally, the nearby Cultural Street is a hot spot for delicious fresh seafood, drawing countless people to indulge in culinary delights, pursue idols in Jia'an Village, picnic at the big lawn in front of the Northern Water Resources Bureau, and fly kites.
