Jiaan Village (Shimen Eleven Portions) Introduction
Longtan Shiyifen retains the dormitory complex where American engineers lived during the construction of the Shimen Reservoir, featuring 50-year-old architecture that blends Japanese and American styles. It boasts large grasslands and shaded trees, making it one of the famous recreational spots in Taoyuan City. The expansive Shimen Lawn in front of the Shimen Reservoir Administration is always crowded with children and adults flying kites, playing soccer, or having picnics, surrounded by many casuarina and camphor trees providing shade for relaxation. The dormitory area is also home to numerous cherry blossom trees, which bloom beautifully in spring. Additionally, the reservoir administration has served as a filming location for several local films such as "Our Times," "The Tree in the Rain," and "Mayday." The movie "Our Times" was filmed in Jia'an Village, where the main character's home is located. Visitors can explore the scenes from the film and reminisce about the youthful and humorous storyline. Moreover, the nearby cultural street is a hot spot for fresh seafood dining, attracting countless visitors for delicious food, celebrity watching in Jia'an Village, and picnicking or flying kites on the large lawn in front of the Northern Water Resources Bureau.
