Jia'an Village (Shimen Shiyifen) Introduction
Longtan Shiyifen retains the dormitory complex where American engineers stayed during the construction of the Shimen Reservoir. This 50-year-old building features a blend of Japanese and American architectural styles, and boasts vast grasslands and shaded trees, making it one of the famous leisure spots in Taoyuan City. The Shimen Great Lawn, located in front of the Shimen Reservoir Administration, is quite spacious and often attracts many children and adults to fly kites, play soccer, or have picnics. The area is surrounded by various trees such as Chinese parasol trees and camphor trees, providing shade for visitors to relax. The dormitory area is also home to many cherry blossom trees, which bloom beautifully every spring. Additionally, the administration office has been the filming location for several Taiwanese films, including "Our Times," "The Tree in the Rolling Pine," and "Mayday." The movie "Our Times" was filmed in Jia'anli, where the main character's home is located. Visitors can also explore the filming locations and reminisce about the youthful and humorous scenes from the movie. Furthermore, the nearby Cultural Street is also a popular dining hotspot for fresh seafood, attracting countless visitors for delicious food, celebrity sightings in Jia'an Village, and picnics and kite-flying at the Great Lawn in front of the Northern Water Resources Bureau.
