Maple Tree Foot Park Introduction
The first large playground in the country themed around giraffes. The design concept is inspired by the local residents' description of it as an "urban zoo," where giraffes can be seen pausing and observing the city among the expansive grassland and existing trees. The park features slides up to 16 meters high and aerial climbing nets, enhancing the children's play experience and catering to adventurers of all ages. Maple Tree Foot Park covers about 3.5 hectares, based on "playfulness" and "inclusiveness," with the main design theme of "brilliant childhood memories," providing recreational spaces suitable for different age groups. The park offers diverse facilities, including an ecological pond, forest waterway, scenic elevated walkways, giraffe playground tower, fitness equipment, restroom renovations, pavement improvements, and preserved large grassy areas. The highlight of the park is the 16-meter high "Giraffe Playground Tower," which is challenging and inclusive, currently the tallest slide in Taoyuan City. The park is divided into four main areas: Giraffe Play Area: categorized by different floors and difficulty levels for 5-12 years old and 13 years and older. It offers children unique perspectives and play experiences via aerial walkways, connected to the giraffes. Ecological Play Area: featuring an ecological pond and forest waterway adjacent to local farmland, creating an ecological play paradise, allowing children to swing while being accompanied by birds. Silver-Haired Joy Zone: designed primarily for seniors to engage in activities, allowing grandparents to play alongside their grandchildren in a fragrant, floral environment. Great Lawn Area: the best place for the whole family to picnic, run, and fly kites. The entire area applies urban disaster prevention concepts, utilizing the great lawn area as an important urban flood retention pond, ecological rainwater storage, and an emergency refuge for urban species, making it a unique park that connects to the urban ecosystem.
