A8 Art and Culture Center Introduction
The A8 Art and Cultural Center, established for a year, has attracted over ten thousand visitors, creating a comfortable corner for art and culture in the city, allowing people to enjoy rare moments of leisure. Located on the 3rd floor of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital MRT Station complex, near Global Mall, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and Fullon Hotel, the A8 Art and Cultural Center spans a large space focused on contemporary art and local culture. Through exhibitions, creative cultural activities, workshops, and lectures, it conveys the beauty of a refined lifestyle. In line with the curatorial concept of the opening exhibition "Open the Door to Local Culture," the A8 Art and Cultural Center promotes local culture by presenting each performance with local elements, showcasing the beautiful sparks between people and the land, as well as between individuals. The "Art Journey Through Local Culture" exhibition collaborates with "Tea Seed Hall" and printmaker Mu Ran to deeply highlight the culture of Guishan Bitter Tea. The "City Stories: New Memories" exhibition prompts locals to reminisce about their hometown through seemingly ordinary items such as faded photographs, train tickets, and shop posters. The "Different" exhibition tells the stories of military dependents' villages through illustrations, capturing the passage of time on paper. A8 Art and Cultural Center aims not only to become a new highlight of local culture but also to promote art and culture for families. Therefore, both the "Open the Door to Local Culture" and "Scatter Wild" exhibitions feature picture books displayed by independent bookstores that relate to the themes, creating shared reading moments for parents and children. Additionally, they offer various experiential activities such as branch pencil doodling, portrait illustration, and print coloring to stimulate children's imagination, embodying the concept that art knows no age, and allowing children to deeply experience the urban landscape in which they live.
