A8 Art and Cultural Center Introduction
The A8 Art and Culture Center has created a comfortable creative corner for the city, allowing people to enjoy rare moments of relaxation. Located on the third floor of the building adjacent to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital MRT Station, the center has attracted over ten thousand visitors in its first year of operation. It is near the Global Mall, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and the Fullon Hotel. Spanning hundreds of square meters, the A8 Art and Culture Center focuses on contemporary art and local culture, conveying the beauty of a refined lifestyle through diverse means such as exhibitions, cultural and creative activities, workshops, and lectures. Similar to the curatorial concept of its opening exhibition, "Opening the Door to Local Culture," the A8 Art and Culture Center was established to promote local culture by opening a door to understand the homeland. Each exhibit showcases local elements, representing the beautiful sparks between people and the land, as well as between individuals. The "Cultural Journey" exhibition collaborates with "Tea Seed Hall" and printmaker Mu Ran to deeply highlight the culture of Tamsui bitter tea. The "City Stories: New Memories" exhibition brings local people back to their hometown feelings through seemingly ordinary items like yellowing photographs, train tickets, and grocery store posters. The "Unique Stories" exhibition expresses the tales of military dependents' villages through the illustrations of an artist, allowing time to crystallize on paper. The A8 Art and Culture Center aims not only to become a new cultural highlight in the area but also focuses on promoting family-oriented cultural activities. Consequently, both the "Opening the Door to Local Culture" exhibition and the "Scattered Fields" exhibition feature picture books related to their themes, provided by independent bookstores, creating reading time for parents and children. Various experiential activities are also designed, such as branch pen graffiti, portrait illustration, and print coloring, to inspire children's imagination, embodying the idea that art knows no age, and providing children with an in-depth experience of the city's landscape in which they live.
