A8 Art Center Introduction
The A8 Art and Cultural Center aims to create a comfortable artistic corner for the city, allowing people to enjoy rare moments of relaxation. Located on the 3rd floor of the MRT Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station complex, the A8 Art and Cultural Center has attracted over ten thousand visitors in its first year. It is close to the Global Mall, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and Fullon Hotel, featuring a spacious area that focuses on contemporary art and local culture. Through diverse activities such as exhibitions, cultural and creative events, workshops, and lectures, it conveys the beauty of a refined life. The opening exhibition, "Opening the Door to Local Culture," is curated to introduce the community and promote local culture. Each performance at the A8 Art and Cultural Center embodies local elements, showcasing the beautiful interactions between people and land, as well as between individuals. The "Art Journey through Local Culture" exhibition collaborates with "Tea Seed Hall" and printmaker Mu Ran, providing a profound insight into the culture of Kui Shan's bitter tea. The "City Matters ‧ New Memories" exhibition evokes feelings of nostalgia among locals through seemingly ordinary items such as yellowed photos, a bus ticket, and grocery store posters. The "Different from the Rest" exhibition allows the illustrator to narrate stories of military dependents' villages through their artwork, immortalizing time on paper. Not only aiming to be a new highlight of local culture, the A8 Art and Cultural Center also focuses on promoting arts and culture for families. Therefore, both the "Opening the Door to Local Culture" exhibition and the "Scattered Wilderness" exhibition feature picture books related to the themes presented by independent bookstores, creating moments for parents and children to read together. Various experiential activities such as branch pen doodling, portrait illustration, and print coloring are designed to stimulate children's imagination, embodying the principle that art transcends age and allowing children to deeply experience the urban landscape they live in.
