A8 Art and Cultural Center Introduction
The A8 Art and Culture Center, established to create a relaxed artistic corner in the city where people can enjoy rare moments of leisure, has become an enchanting destination, attracting over ten thousand visitors in just one year. Located on the third floor of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital MRT Station complex building, A8 is close to the Global Mall, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and Fullon Hotel. Spanning over a hundred ping, the center focuses on contemporary art and local culture, using diverse methods such as exhibitions, cultural creation activities, workshops, and lectures to convey the beauty of a refined lifestyle. The opening exhibition, "Opening the Door to Local Culture," is curated with the concept of opening a door to understand one's homeland. The A8 Art and Culture Center is set up to promote local culture, and every program reflects local elements, showcasing the beautiful sparks between people and the land, and between individuals. The exhibition "Cultural Journey" collaborates with "Tea Seed Hall" and printmaker Mu Ran to deeply showcase the culture of Guishan Bitter Tea. The exhibition "City Stories: New Memories" invites locals to evoke feelings for their hometown through seemingly mundane items like yellowed photographs, train tickets, and grocery store posters. The exhibition "Unique Stories" is illustrated by artists sharing stories from military dependents' villages, capturing the essence of time on paper. A8 Art and Culture Center aims not only to be a new highlight of local culture but also prioritizes promoting parent-child artistic activities. Therefore, both the "Opening the Door to Local Culture" and "Splashing the Wild" exhibitions feature independent bookstores displaying themed picture books, fostering shared reading time for parents and children. Additionally, various experiential activities such as branch pencil doodles, portrait illustrations, and print coloring are designed to spark children's imagination, embodying the idea that art transcends age and allowing children to deeply experience the urban landscape they inhabit.
