New Taipei City Library, Linkou Branch Introduction
Breaking the conventional and dull impression that libraries often give, the Lin-Kou Branch of New Taipei City Library has created a minimalist and cozy reading space. Designed with a color palette of black, white, and gray, complemented by Scandinavian-style tables and chairs, the library has transformed into a wonderfully comfortable space akin to home. The bookcases are spaciously spaced, and the shelves are specifically designed to be below 130 centimeters in height, making it easier to access books and enhancing the overall feeling of openness in the space. The most impressive feature is the giant book wall inside, which stretches 36 meters, claimed to be the longest book wall in Taiwan. It employs a curved design, along with an elegant tall staircase book wall, making the rich collection of books visually accessible while showcasing the exquisite beauty of book placement. The library currently includes a children's area, a slow reading area, a reading area, a senior citizens' area, a periodicals and newspapers area, a laptop area, and a leisure reading area, with a total of approximately 160,000 books in its collection, which will continue to be updated. The library also features multiple bright and comfortable reading spaces, each equipped with USB charging ports, a thoughtful design that can be seen throughout the facility. Whether you want to quietly enjoy reading alone or have a parent-child reading time, this place is very suitable!
