Breaking the stereotypical dull impression of libraries, the Lin Kou Branch of the New Taipei City Library has created a minimalist and cozy reading space designed with a base color scheme of black, white, and gray, complemented by Nordic-style tables and chairs. The library has transformed into a delightful space that feels comfortable like home. The shelves are spaciously spaced, and the height of the bookcases is specifically designed to be below 130 cm, making navigation and book retrieval much easier and giving the overall space a more open feel. The most impressive feature is the giant book wall inside, stretching 36 meters long, claimed to be the longest book wall in Taiwan. It features a curved design paired with an elegantly elevated staircase book wall that not only highlights the rich collection of books but also showcases the ultimate beauty of book arrangement. Currently, the library is equipped with a children’s area, a slow reading area, a reading area, a senior area, a periodicals and newspapers area, a laptop area, and a leisure reading area, with a total of about 160,000 books, and the collection will continue to be updated.
