Chikuan Mountain Trail Introduction
Chike Mountain, with an elevation of 454 meters, is located in Yushan Village, Guanshi Township, Hsinchu County. The summit features a third-class triangulation station, marker number 4199, and there are five entrances available to access Chike Mountain and the Dongshitou Mountain ridge. Chike Mountain is situated west of the Yushan community and is named for the abundant Chike trees on its peak. The entire hike along the Chike Mountain trail takes approximately 3 hours. Next to the trail entrance is the Yushan Fude Temple, a third-level historic site with a history of over a century. The trail offers pleasant scenery, filled with the sounds of birds and blooming flowers, while to the right, one can see the lush greenery of the Laoya Golf Course. Near the third exit, there is a two-story observation deck; climbing up provides a broad view of the emerald mountains, allowing visitors to enjoy the refreshing experience of high-altitude sightseeing. Afterward, one can admire Taiwan's only unique scenery in the west—the aerial cable car of the A-ni mountain area, witnessing the cable car traversing the mountains while transporting materials, which is also a distinctive sight.
