New Walu Hakka Cultural Preservation District Introduction
Xinhua Hakka Cultural Preservation Area is an old settlement preservation area that was allocated to the Hakka Affairs Council by the Hsinchu County Government in November 2006 without charge. It combines with local communities such as the Zhongxing Community and the Flower Drum Troupe to promote traditional Hakka artistic activities. On one hand, from the perspective of cultural creativity and knowledge economy, it cultivates local cultural creative industries through the interpretation of traditional Hakka culture; on the other hand, from the perspective of urban development, in addition to serving as a recreational park green space, it enriches urban diversity and becomes a showcase of local characteristics in the Liujia New Town. In December 2010, the Cultural Assets Division of the Hsinchu County Cultural Bureau took over the area, continuing related activities while strengthening the participatory mechanisms for local interactions to seek more diversified resources and operational models.
