Zhukbei Liujhangli Lin Family Ancestral Hall Introduction
The establishment of the Lin Family Shrine originated from the organization of the Lin Zi Sheng Gong Tasting Association by Lin Xian Kun during the Qianlong period. In 1790 (the 55th year of the Qianlong reign), the first piece of land was purchased in Liu Zhang Li as a sacrificial field for the Zi Sheng Gong. Following this, additional lands in Liu Zhang Li, Lu Chang, Fang Liao, Ba Zhang Li, and Jiu Qiong Lin were purchased. The proceeds from the association were used for the ancestral worship ceremony held on the 15th day of the first lunar month each year, offering sacrificial animals such as pigs and sheep, and gathering people to pay respects at the shrine by lighting incense. In 1882 (the 8th year of the Guangxu reign), the shrine was built and named "Zi Sheng Gong Hall," and it was renovated in its current form in 1911. Due to the shared ancestral shrine of Liu Wu, it was later renamed Lin Family Shrine. The shrine underwent renovations in 1951 and walls and a canopy were built in 1981.
