Wu Zhuoliu Memorial House Introduction

The former residence of Wu Zhuoliu, located in Xinpu Township, is constructed from an ancient sanheyuan (triad courtyard house), exuding a retro atmosphere. It preserves the spatial culture of early Hakka life and commemorates Mr. Wu Zhuoliu, a representative figure in modern Taiwanese literature. The site holds historical and educational significance in literature, making it a worthwhile visit. The Wu family's "Wudai Fanggong Book" states, "...recalling from the time of the Yang-De Feng family, the Tai Bo opened the Wu surname’s lineage, with Confucius referred to as the benevolence of great virtue. 'After thousands of generations, it flourishes across the seas...' 'I remember in those years, my ancestor, whose given name was Zhuoguan, migrated from the town to Taiwan, striving to establish a family and diligently creating, from Damaopu, owning land and building houses.'"
