Liu Hsing-chin Cartoon Education Museum Introduction

When visiting Neihu (Neiwan), many people are undoubtedly familiar with the local famous artist Liu Hsing-Chin. Known for comics such as "Brother A-San and Auntie" and "Robot and A-Chin," Liu once licensed the use of his drawn characters to local businesses for just NT$1 to help promote local tourism in Neiwan. Liu always hoped to have his own comic exhibition hall, so he planned to set up the exhibition hall using the space in the special classroom of Neiwan Elementary School in Hsinchu County. Visitors to Neiwan can not only see the characters like Brother A-San and Auntie everywhere but also admire his artworks in the comic exhibition hall. The hall features a cultural and creative arts area, a time tunnel, regular comic art exhibitions, and a comic secret garden. The two-story comic exhibition hall displays many original comic work manuscripts by Teacher Liu on the first floor. Walking into the time corridor, visitors can learn about the exciting moments of Teacher Liu's creative career. Many people's knowledge of Liu Hsing-Chin is limited to his comics; however, he also has another identity as an "inventor"! Items such as extendable umbrella sleeves, lightweight raincoats, and pencils with interchangeable refills were created by Teacher Liu. Later on, he focused on children's education and invented learning materials like self-study machines for children, sharing his flexible ideas and making education enjoyable in daily life.
