Emei Township was once an important production area for camphor in Taiwan. The twelfth camphor production site, known as “Shierliao,” is now the location of the Shierliao Leisure Agricultural Scenic Area in Emei Township. To irrigate nearby farmland, local farmers also excavated the Shierliao Pond. If you're up for it, you can even ride all the way to Lion Head Mountain, connecting various tung blossom attractions in Emei Township. As a popular tourist destination, there are numerous well-known snacks, international restaurants, and romantic scenic cafes along the way, allowing visitors to plan their own unique journeys based on their endurance and preferences. Regarding the recent trend of road running in Taiwan, Emei Lake is also a great location for this. The Education Department of Hsinchu County Government will host the Emei Buddha Road Running event on May 4th, starting from the Tian’en Maitreya Buddha Plaza, circling around Emei Lake, showcasing the stunning landscape along the route.
