Tongxin Community Introduction
The historical witness of the Huwei sugar industry is located in the Tongxin Garden in Huwei, Yunlin. It currently features Taiwan Sugar No. 11 steam locomotive, a monument commemorating the introduction of the South African sugarcane variety 310, and various sugar production tools for visitors to explore. The interior trees are mostly early Taiwanese camphor and tropical plants transplanted from Southeast Asia, resembling a record of the rise and fall of the Huwei sugar industry and providing relief from the scorching sun of Yunlin.
