Green Island Ziping Ecosystem Conservation Area Introduction
Ziping is located at the southernmost tip of Green Island. By following the wooden walkway beside the red direction signs along the round-the-island road, you can reach the Ziping Ecological Area. This ecological zone is a tidal pool composed of coral reefs and is also the site of Green Island's famous lagoon. Unlike the sandbar lagoons commonly found in western Taiwan, this lagoon is a "barrier reef lagoon" formed by coral reefs, where the water within the reef is isolated from the open sea, creating a lagoon that runs parallel to the coastline.
