Sabu Stone Pillars Introduction
The Saoba Stone Pillars are an archaeological site in Taiwan, located on the southwest bank of the confluence of the Xiuguluan River and Hongye River in the Huadong Valley. They stand at the northern end of the Wuzhih Mountain Tableland, towering majestically over the central section of the valley, offering excellent views and pleasant scenery. The site features two massive stone pillars, measuring 5.75 meters and 3.99 meters in height, respectively. Dating back approximately 3,000 years, it is the only prehistoric megalithic civilization site in Taiwan, and thus, it has been designated as a national third-class historic site by the Ministry of the Interior. This site not only represents an important marker of prehistoric megalithic culture but also evokes rich emotional responses from people throughout history. Visitors can enjoy the sweeping views of the Xiuguluan River and the Central Mountain Range, and the mysterious Saoba Stone Pillars, intertwined with Amis legends, beckon exploration, making it a great place for tourists to pause and relax.
