Deji Reservoir Introduction
Deji Reservoir, also known as Dajian Reservoir, was established in 1969 and is the main project for Taiwan Power Company to develop hydropower along the Dajia River. The beautiful parabolic arch dam, standing 180 meters tall, is one of the tallest dams in Asia and ranks among the top ten dams in the world. The reservoir forms an oval-shaped lake that covers an area of 592 square kilometers, with water colors transitioning from light green to dark green, deep blue, and blackish blue, offering different perspectives from afar and up close; however, it is currently not open to the public.
