Zheng Chenggong Memorial Park Introduction
The year 1661 is an important year in Taiwanese history, marking the beginning of Koxinga's (Zheng Chenggong) governance over the land after his landing in Taiwan. It is said that Koxinga entered Taiwan through the Gaha Bay (Luerhmen). This place is regarded as Koxinga's landing site. To commemorate his achievements, the Zheng Chenggong Memorial Park was built on land donated by the Zhen Tong Luerhmen Mother Temple. Upon arriving at the park entrance, visitors are greeted by the imposing and solemn red archway, the statue of Koxinga in a heroic pose, and the towering Luerhmen Landing Monument. Most tourists tend to leave after visiting the Zhen Tong Luerhmen Mother Temple, making this place relatively quiet, creating a serene and mystical atmosphere. Closing your eyes, you can almost envision Koxinga stepping onto the land of Taiwan with great spirit.
