Fenggui Cave Introduction
Visitors to Penghu must listen to the waves at Fonggui, or they cannot truly say they have been to Penghu. "Fonggui Listening to the Waves" is a well-known attraction in Penghu. Fonggui is located at the tip of Fonggui Peninsula, which locals refer to as "Fongguiwei." The hexagonal basalt columns on the southern shore are well developed, creating narrow sea erosion grooves due to wave erosion. The bottoms of these grooves have eroded into sea caves, and from these caves, a small hole leading to the surface is formed through the joints. When the south wind brings high tides, the long waves flow into the sea erosion grooves, compressing the air inside the sea caves, causing seawater to spout through the gaps and emit a whistling sound, reminiscent of the sound of a bellows. Other highlights include the sunset at Siangjiao Islet, the tranquil unnamed beach in Houshan, and the historical battles at Shetou Mountain, all unique to Fonggui Peninsula. Fonggui Listening to the Waves is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Penghu and an important filming location for the movie "The People from Fonggui" during Dou Dao's childhood. Next to Fonggui Cave, there is a pavilion humorously referred to as the "alien's pavilion." In addition to being a filming site for "The People from Fonggui," it also appears in the music video for "Penghu Love Song" by Jan Tien. Do you think it looks similar?
