青灣仙人掌公園

Qingwan Cactus Park was originally an abandoned military camp during the Japanese colonial period. After renovations, it has now become a well-planned cactus park, with a basalt-built fortress and unique columnar basalt landscapes nearby. Climbing to the highest point offers beautiful sea views! Upon entering the park, visitors are immediately attracted by the large number of cacti. There are nearly a hundred species of cacti here, and the park is divided into different areas, where visitors can enjoy the scenery, participate in DIY experiences, and even savor barbecue!

Qingwan Cactus Park Introduction

At the Qingshui Cactus Park, you can not only admire a variety of unique plants but also see precious relics, including military barracks, observation towers, artillery bunkers, ammunition depots, and drainage ditches from the Japanese occupation period, all of which are well-preserved. One of the artillery fortifications, built in 1902, is the earliest Japanese artillery fort in Penghu. Next to the park, there is the Penghu International Diving Center, which features a unique bay topography. Due to the relatively calm waters, it is especially suitable for beginners to experience diving. A three-minute drive away is the pristine Shanshui Beach, which stretches over 1 kilometer and is made up of coral and shell remnants. The calm waters are crystal blue, and there are wind-formed sand dune landscapes to admire, making it one of the best natural swimming beaches on Penghu Island. Historically, it was a very famous attraction, but as businesses gradually exited, the number of visitors has decreased, and the beach appears quite peaceful. If you walk along the streets of Shanshui, you can also see fish being dried, as Shanshui is a typical fishing village with many seafood processing factories, so when you're there, don't miss the chance to try the local specialty, stinky dried fish!
