Qingwan Cactus Park Introduction
At the Qingwan Cactus Park, visitors can not only admire a variety of unique plants but also see precious historical relics, including military facilities from the Japanese colonial period such as barracks, observation platforms, artillery bunkers, ammunition depots, and drainage ditches, all of which are well preserved. Among them is the Dasha Fortress, a artillery platform built in 1902, which is the earliest Japanese artillery site in Penghu. Next to the park is the Penghu International Diving Center, which features a unique bay topography. Due to the relatively calm waters, it is particularly suitable for beginners to experience diving. Just a three-minute drive away is the pristine Sha Li Beach, which stretches over one kilometer and is made up of coral and shell remains. The waters are tranquil and blue, with scenic wind-blown sand dunes, making it one of the best natural swimming beaches in Penghu. It was once a very popular attraction, but as businesses have gradually closed, the number of visitors has decreased, resulting in a quieter beach. If you stroll down the streets of Sha Li, you might also see fish being sun-dried, as Sha Li is a typical fishing village with many seafood processing factories. Therefore, it's a good idea to try the locally famous stinky dried fish when you visit!
