Cactus Park in Qingwan Introduction

At Qingshui Bay Cactus Park, visitors can not only admire a variety of unique plants but also view precious historical relics. The facilities from the Japanese colonial period, including military camps, observation towers, artillery bunkers, ammunition depots, and drainage ditches, are all well preserved. Among them, the Dashan Fortress artillery platform from 1902 is the oldest Japanese artillery site in Penghu. Next to the park is the Penghu International Diving Center, which benefits from a unique bay topography. Due to the relatively calm waters, it is particularly suitable for beginners to experience diving. A three-minute drive away is the pristine Sandiao Beach. Sandiao Beach stretches over one kilometer and is made up of coral and shell debris. The waters are gentle and the sea is a brilliant blue, featuring wind-formed sand dunes for visitors to enjoy. It is one of the best natural swimming areas in Taiwan, and was once a very popular attraction; however, as operators have gradually exited, visitor numbers have decreased, making the beach appear quieter. If you stroll along the streets of Sandiao, you can also see fish drying, as Sandiao is a typical fishing village with many fish processing factories, so be sure to try the locally famous stinky dried fish!
