Liukou Hot Springs Introduction
Liukou Hot Springs is located in Haiduan Township, Taitung County, at the 179K mark of the Southern Cross-Island Highway. Travelers passing through this area can easily spot many visitors soaking their feet while relaxing, as well as local residents who come with simple tools to cook hot spring eggs. Liukou Hot Springs was actually discovered by road workers while excavating the Southern Cross-Island Highway, who found hot spring water flowing along the rock walls and dug holes to channel the water for relaxation during their breaks. In 2008, after renovations by the East Rift Valley National Scenic Area Administration, it became a clean and comfortable hot spring pool.
