Fongshan Anti-Japanese Memorial碑 Introduction
The Fongshan Anti-Japanese Memorial is built to commemorate the Bunun people who resisted the oppressive rule of the Japanese colonial government in Taiwan in 1933. This memorial is a stone pillar approximately 1.5 meters tall and is one of the three major attractions in Hualien's Haiduan Township that record the resistance of the Bunun people against Japanese colonial rule, alongside the Lamadas Star Memorial Park and the Chulai Anti-Japanese Memorial. Near the Fongshan Anti-Japanese Memorial, the NanHeng Forest is lush and green, featuring layered mountains. The new Wulu Creek Canyon, approximately 9 kilometers long between Lidao and Lulu, presents an S-shaped cross-section. Here, the mountains form a great cliff, displaying breathtaking and magnificent scenery. The Tianlong Suspension Bridge spans the Wulu Creek, appearing like a rainbow amidst the lush green hills, making it an unforgettable scenic spot known as the first beauty of NanHeng, as well as an excellent place for outdoor activities.
