Fengping Anti-Japanese Monument Introduction
The Fonghsa Anti-Japanese Memorial is erected to commemorate the Bunun people’s resistance against Japanese colonial rule in Taiwan in 1933. The memorial stands at approximately 1.5 meters tall and is a stone pillar. Along with the Lamadas Stars Memorial Park and the Chulai Anti-Japanese Memorial, it is one of the three major attractions in Hualien County that record the Bunun people's resistance against Japanese colonial rule. Near the Fonghsa Anti-Japanese Memorial is the Nan Heng Forest, lush and green, featuring the newly formed Wulu Creek Canyon, which stretches for 9 kilometers between Lidao and Lululu. The canyon has an S-shaped profile when viewed from above, with towering mountains creating grand cliffs. The breathtaking and rugged landscape of the canyon is impressive. The Tianlong Suspension Bridge spans across the Wulu Creek, resembling a rainbow amidst the green hills and valleys, making it an unforgettable attraction and a great place for outdoor activities.
