Fongsan Anti-Japanese Memorial Monument Introduction
The Fengsaka Anti-Japanese Memorial is a monument commemorating the Bunun people's resistance against the oppressive Japanese colonial rule in Taiwan in 1933. It is a stone pillar about 1.5 meters high and, along with the Lamadas Star Memorial Park and the Chulai Anti-Japanese Memorial, is one of the three major attractions in Hualien County that record the Bunun people's resistance to Japanese colonial rule. The nearby Nanlong Forest is lush and green, featuring layers of mountains. The New Wulu Creek Gorge, stretching 9 kilometers between Lidao and Lulu, presents an S-shaped profile when viewed in cross-section, with spectacular steep cliffs formed by the mountain range. The gorge landscape is breathtaking, and the Tianlong Suspension Bridge spans the Wulu Creek, appearing like a rainbow amidst the green hills and valleys. It is an unforgettable scenic spot in the Southern Cross-Island Highway and a great place for outdoor activities.
