Dahan Fort Introduction
The Dahanjian Site is located in the mountainous area on the west side of Nangan Island and is a representative underground tunnel and coastal defense site in Matsu's military history. The overall structure is carved from solid rock, with internal features including firing ports, command areas, sleeping quarters, ammunition storage, and observation holes, providing complete military defense capabilities. Facing the sea, the site has long been tasked with defense duties and still retains a strong atmosphere of wartime. Walking through it feels like entering an underground fortress hidden within the mountains, making it an important location for understanding Matsu’s military culture and combat readiness spirit.
