Dazhi Village Creation Base Introduction
The base is located in Daqi Village, Guantian District, Tainan, adjacent to the Wushantou Reservoir and National Tainan University of the Arts (referred to as NTUA). In the 1930s, due to the construction of the reservoir by Japanese engineer Hatta Yoichi, the residents who originally lived within the reservoir's area were relocated to the current site of Daqi Village, just a hill away. The core members of our team are graduates of the NTUA Graduate Institute of Architecture and Art, and we have been stationed in the Daqi community for twelve years, proudly identifying ourselves as "Art Farmers." We combine the village's landscape and distinctive features to cultivate "fun art" in the mountain village and integrate the concept of "Village Game Island" to revitalize the village's ruins, creating a "creative play and learning" experiential base that emphasizes fun, aesthetics, healing, and exploration! At the same time, we are committed to undertaking local regeneration actions that combine "community design" with "creative life experiences," aiming for the local regeneration model and its design thinking practices of the "Village Game Island" to inspire creative life imaginations between urban and rural areas.
