Yao Po Mountain Tourist Agricultural Area Introduction
Yao Po Mountain is located to the south of the Shei-Pa National Park Management Office, resembling a giant eagle preparing to take flight. In Hakka, "Yao Po" means eagle. Yao Po Mountain is situated to the south of Qing'an, downstream of the Wenshui River, with a highest point of 910 meters, located at the northern end of the Malabaan Mountain Range. The rock layers within this mountain range slope to the west, forming a structure characterized by differential erosion, resulting in a steep eastern side and a sloping western side, which is one of the most standard hogback ridge landscapes in Taiwan. The geological layers of Yao Po Mountain belong to the Ganding Mountain sandstone, which is hard due to its calcium-rich content, and the striking rock formations resemble a giant eagle spreading its wings, with an impressive appearance that has led local villagers to name it Yao Po Mountain.
