Yao Po Mountain Agricultural Tourist Area Introduction
Ya Po Mountain is located in the southern part of Shei-Pa National Park. The mountain resembles a giant eagle poised to take off. In Hakka, "Ya Po" means eagle. Ya Po Mountain is situated south of the Qing'an area along the Wen Shui River downstream, with a highest point of 910 meters, at the northern end of the Malabun Mountain Range. The rock layers in this mountain range tilt westward, and the mountain shape is formed as a result of differential erosion, resulting in an eastern steep and western sloped shape, making it one of the most typical dolphin-backed mountain ridge landscapes in Taiwan. The geological layers of Ya Po Mountain belong to the Gintou Mountain Sandstone, which is hard due to its calcium content, with its abrupt rock formations resembling a giant eagle spreading its wings, commanding awe. In the past, local villagers referred to it as Ya Po Mountain.
