Yao Po Mountain Tourism Agricultural Area Introduction
Ya Po Mountain is located to the south of the Shei-Pa National Park Administration. The mountain resembles a giant eagle poised to take flight. In Hakka, "Ya Po" means eagle. Ya Po Mountain is situated south of Qing'an, downstream of the Wenshui River, with its highest point at 910 meters, located at the northern end of the Malabon Mountain Range. The rock layers within the range tilt to the west, and the mountain shape is the result of differential erosion, forming a steep eastern slope and a gentle western slope, making it one of the most classic hogback ridge landscapes in Taiwan. The geological layer in which Ya Po Mountain is located consists of Gankou Mountain sandstone, which is hard due to its calcium content. The striking rock layers resemble a giant eagle spreading its wings, creating an impressive sight that captured the imagination of local residents, who thus named it Ya Po Mountain.
