Tianzhong Forest Park Introduction
The serene Guishan Temple, the tree-lined Tianzhong Forest Park, with butterflies fluttering and birds chirping in the park, offers rich ecological landscape resources. There are hiking trails winding through the mountain ridges and bike paths meandering through the forests and fields, creating the Tianzhong Forest Recreation Area. If you seek to escape from work, go hiking, enjoy scenic views, have a forest bath, relax, or embark on a nature ecology journey, this is definitely the place to be!
Challenging Mountain Trail
Adjacent to Tianzhong Guanshan Temple, Tianzhong Forest Park features a mountain trail that mostly winds along the ridge line, forming a loop throughout the park. The trail follows the natural terrain, with significant elevation changes, making it a highly challenging mountain route. The platform area located at the midpoint is on the Nanjian Plateau within Nantou County, offering excellent views. On clear days, one can gaze out at the Zhuoshui River and the Taiwan Strait!
Changqing Bicycle Path
The bicycle path is located at an elevation of 125 to 395 meters, along the western foothills of the southern part of the Bagua Mountains. The entire route meanders through forests and fields, making it a prime location for cycling tourism and outdoor nature activities in central Taiwan.
Overlooking the Majestic Mountain Scenery - Changqing Hiking Trail
The Changqing Hiking Trail runs along the Changqing Bicycle Path. Access to the trailhead can be made via a small path next to Tianzhong Zantian Temple and Puxing Temple; the trail is approximately 1.3 kilometers long, also forming a loop. Along the way, hikers can enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic mountains and overlook the landscape of Tianzhong city and plains. On the way back, visitors can also stop by Zantian Temple and Puxing Temple for a moment of worship.
Nostalgic Tour of the Tobacco Barn
After experiencing the beauty of the forest, it's worth visiting nearby areas like Fuxing and Dongyuan for a "Tobacco Barn Nostalgic Tour." In the past, many farmers in Tianzhong Town prospered by cultivating tobacco, and even today, there are still dozens of hectares of green tobacco fields, offering a pleasing sight. Although traditional methods for curing tobacco leaves are no longer used, some old tobacco barns remain preserved, with their attic-style designs evoking a sense of nostalgia.
