Yuanlin Shrine Ruins Introduction
During the Japanese colonial period, many shrines were built in Taiwan, which served as places for the Japanese to worship deities. Shrines are divided into official shrines and local shrines. Yuanlin Shrine was established in the 6th year of the Showa era (1931) and was originally an unranked shrine. In the 17th year of the Showa era (1942), it was designated as a village shrine and was one of the shrines in Yuanlin County during the Japanese occupation.
