Yuanlin Shrine Ruins Introduction
During the Japanese rule, many shrines were built by the Japanese in Taiwan, serving as places for worshiping deities. Shrines are divided into official shrines and local shrines. Yuanlin Shrine was built in the 6th year of the Showa era (1931) and originally was an unclassified shrine. In the 17th year of the Showa era (1942), it was designated as a village shrine, making it one of the shrines in Yuanlin County during the Japanese rule.
