Longting Ancient Trail Introduction
Formerly known as the "Salt Harvesting Ancient Path," it was a trade route between the coastal areas of Changhua and the mountainous regions of Nantou. Due to its location at Dairen Pit on Baigou Mountain in Yuanlin, it is also called the "Dairen Pit Ancient Path." The trail is constructed with local stone materials, has a gentle gradient, making it suitable for leisurely afternoon walks. Both sides of the trail are lined with orchards, featuring clusters of starfruit, lychee, and longan trees. Visitors in the summer can see the branches laden with fruit, combined with camphor trees, acacia, and fragrant nanmu, creating a rich and colorful forest environment. Additionally, seasonal flowers such as balsam, butterfly orchids, and calla lilies bloom along the path.
