Bike Scenic Bridge Introduction
To provide a safe and convenient riding space for cyclists, the Pingtung County Government has specially constructed a bridge exclusively for bicycles and pedestrians, which is the Bike Scenic Bridge that crosses Provincial Highway No. 1. The entire bridge is primarily built with a steel structure, painted white, with the arches composed of two intersecting red circular steel pipes, making the striking red arcs and streamlined shape a focal point. Motorcycles are strictly prohibited from passing through the Bike Scenic Bridge. The bridge deck is mainly divided into a bike lane and a pedestrian walkway, with the bike lane's surface being smooth enough to accommodate two bicycles passing each other. The pedestrian walkway is reserved for foot traffic and is paved with wooden boards. Standing on the bridge, visitors can clearly appreciate the flow of traffic beneath it. The scenic bridge also offers thoughtful amenities such as rest areas, bike racks, and recreational route guides for tourists to recharge and plan their activities. When visiting the Bike Scenic Bridge, don’t forget to take a detour to Pingtung Linluo Sports Park. The park is spacious and lush, not only featuring flourishing plants and greenery but also well-planned recreational facilities, including an artificial lake, a waterfront plaza, leisure pathways, a baseball field, a basketball court, and a croquet court. In addition, Pingtung Linluo Sports Park is rich in artistic atmosphere, with large public art installations found throughout, making it an art park. At the entrance square of the park stands a tall structure formed by interconnected circles, with a simple design that is quite eye-catching. Continuing into the park, there are increasingly numerous public artworks, such as a memorial statue representing the glory of Pingtung, primarily honoring Chen Shuju, who won a bronze medal in taekwondo at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, and Kuo Yi-Han, who won a bronze medal in weightlifting. There is also a jet engine training aircraft, the earliest of its kind used in Taiwan, on display here. After exploring Pingtung Linluo Sports Park, not only do visitors achieve their recreational and sporting goals, but they also experience a cleansing immersion in art.
