Golden Dragon Lake Introduction
Jinlong Lake is located in a valley between the Shuangfeng Mountains. The lake has a slightly gourd-like shape, resembling a piece of uncut jade quietly resting in the mountains. Historically known as "Dapi Lake," it covers an area of 6 hectares and features a vast expanse of primitive forest. The lakeside is densely forested with lush green trees; the area primarily consists of marshlands, secondary forests, and open grasslands formed from abandoned farmland. Nearby farmlands and wetlands often see water buffalo and white herons leisurely wandering, presenting a simple and serene landscape. In recent years, the Dawu Township Office has developed a road around the lake, lined with beautiful trees. The lakeside path, over 2 kilometers long, allows for leisurely walks or cycling around the lake. Surveys have identified various animals in Jinlong Lake, including woodpeckers, squirrels, butterflies, and small rain frogs, as well as species of plants such as Macaranga, Zingiber, and Cycas taitungensis. Along the lakeside road, there are resting pavilions where visitors can enjoy the scenic view, observe squirrels chasing each other, and various birds searching for food. The area also offers opportunities for hiking, boating, fishing, sightseeing, walking, barbecuing, and camping, making it an ideal spot for a brief escape from the hustle and bustle of life.
