Jinlong Lake Introduction
Jinlong Lake is located in a valley between two peaks, with a slightly gourd-shaped surface, resembling a piece of uncut jade nestled in the mountains. Formerly known as "Dapi Lake," it spans an area of 6 hectares and features an expansive area of pristine forest. The lakeside is densely wooded, providing ample shade from the green trees. The area predominantly consists of swamps, secondary forests, and open grasslands created from abandoned farmlands. Nearby farmlands and wetlands are often frequented by water buffalo and white egrets, creating a picturesque and tranquil scenery. In recent years, the Dawu Township Office has developed a lakeside road, lined with beautiful flowering trees. The walking trail around the lake, which is approximately 2 kilometers, is ideal for casual strolls or cycling. A survey of the animal population in Jinlong Lake revealed the presence of woodpeckers, squirrels, butterflies, small rain frogs, and swamp shrimp, while various plant species include Taiwan acacia, wood ginger, Taitung firethorn, and Taitung cycad. Along the lakeside road, there are resting pavilions where visitors can enjoy the lake's scenery, observe squirrels chasing each other, and watch various birds as they spread their wings in search of food. The area also offers opportunities for hiking, boating, fishing, sightseeing, walking, barbecuing, and camping, making it a great spot for a leisurely escape from the hustle and bustle of life.
