Jinlong Lake Introduction
Jinlong Lake is located in a valley between twin peaks. The lake's surface is slightly gourd-shaped, resembling a peaceful gem resting in the mountains. It was formerly known as "Dapi Lake," covering an area of 6 hectares and possessing a vast expanse of pristine forests. The lakeside is lush with dense trees and greenery; the area primarily consists of marshlands, secondary forests, and open grasslands formed from abandoned farmland. Nearby farmlands and wetlands occasionally host water buffalo and white herons, creating a pure and tranquil scenery. In recent years, the Dawu Township Office has built a lakeside road surrounded by beautiful flowering trees. The trail around the lake, which is over 2 kilometers long, allows for leisurely walks or cycling. Animal surveys in Jinlong Lake have recorded species such as woodpeckers, squirrels, swallowtail butterflies, small rain frogs, and freshwater shrimp, while various plants include Guava, Fagraea, Taitung Firethorn, and Taitung Cycad. Along the lakeside road are pavilions for rest, where visitors can enjoy the scenic reflections in the water, watch squirrels chasing one another, and observe various birds happily foraging. The area also offers outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, fishing, sightseeing, strolling, barbecuing, and camping, making it an excellent place to unwind and enjoy leisure time.
