Shanzhuku Leisure Agriculture Area Introduction
Shan Zhu Ku was named because wild boars used to gather and play in the water, but it is now rare to see wild boars. It has transformed into a leisure agricultural area famous for its diverse seasonal scenery. From Shan Zhu Ku Leisure Agricultural Area, one can overlook the coastlines of Nan Xing and Shang Wu, offering beautiful views of mountains and seas at dawn, afternoon, or dusk. During the winter and spring, when plum blossoms bloom, it is a delightful sight, and from March to April, during the plum picking season, it is a great time to enjoy plums. In addition to fresh plums, various plum preserves are available to take down the mountain and savor their unique flavors. Summer is the peak season for various fruits in Shan Zhu Ku, including jackfruit, pineapple, cherimoya, and lychee, with both high yield and quality being well-regarded. Autumn is a great time to visit the end of the Central Mountain Range at Wen Bi Feng to enjoy the vibrant red maple leaves, painting the mountains with the beauty of the season. A large primeval forest adjacent to Shan Zhu Ku boasts a wide variety of tree species and rich natural ecology, featuring many rare plants, with a spectacular millennium banyan tree covering over 2,000 square meters being the most impressive. The power of nature commands great respect; Shan Zhu Ku is also the habitat of Taiwan's native butterfly orchids, which grow on tree trunks in shaded areas, as a single-stem orchid species that rarely offsets, named for its butterfly-like flower shape.
