Taitung County Chenggong Township Indigenous Peoples Cultural Museum Introduction
The Indigenous Cultural Museum of Chenggong Township is located near Xinguang Fishing Port and serves as an important base for preserving and promoting indigenous traditional culture along the eastern coast. It primarily focuses on Amis culture and regularly hosts various performances and workshops, such as photography, painting, or multimedia presentations, allowing visitors to view the lives and customs of the tribe from the perspectives of artists, as well as understand the life stories of the artists as members of the tribe. In addition to indoor static exhibitions, activities such as communal dining exchanges and traditional craft courses are also held. Visitors can learn about the culinary culture of the tribe through traditional cooking or try their hand at making traditional agricultural tools and ginger weaving baskets, allowing them to experience the daily lives of the community. The outdoor space also periodically hosts music events or markets, gathering specialty food stalls to create new ways to enjoy local ingredients, and invites indigenous singers and bands to perform live. Visitors can dance along with the enthusiastic music and immerse themselves in the joyful and vibrant atmosphere of the events.
