Taitung County Chenggong Township Indigenous Peoples Cultural Museum Introduction
The Indigenous Cultural Museum in Chenggong Township is located near Xinguang Fishing Port and serves as an important base for preserving and promoting Indigenous traditional culture along the eastern coastal area. Focused mainly on Amis culture, it regularly hosts various exhibition activities and workshops. Through photography, painting, and multimedia presentations, visitors can see the daily lives and customs of the community from the perspective of artists, as well as learn about the life stories of the artists as members of the tribe. In addition to static indoor displays, the museum also organizes dining exchange events and traditional craft classes, allowing visitors to understand the community's culinary culture through traditional food or to create traditional agricultural tools and native ginger woven baskets. Tourists can experience various aspects of tribal life firsthand. The outdoor space also periodically hosts music events or markets, gathering unique food stalls that showcase local ingredients in innovative ways, and inviting Indigenous singers and bands to perform live. Visitors are encouraged to dance along to the enthusiastic music and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the activities.
