Taitung County Chenggong Township Indigenous Cultural Museum Introduction
The Indigenous Cultural Museum in Chenggong Township is located near Xinguang Fishing Port and serves as an important base for preserving and promoting indigenous traditional culture along the eastern coastal area. It primarily focuses on Amis culture and periodically hosts various exhibitions and workshops. These events include photography and painting, as well as multimedia presentations that allow visitors to see the daily life and customs of the community from the perspective of artists, while also learning about the artists’ personal stories as members of the tribe. In addition to indoor static displays, the museum also organizes dining exchange activities and traditional craft workshops, where visitors can learn about the community's culinary culture through traditional recipes or make their own traditional farming tools, pandanus baskets, and more, allowing tourists to experience the intricacies of community life firsthand. The outdoor space also occasionally hosts music events or markets, gathering specialty food stalls that showcase local ingredients in innovative ways, and inviting indigenous singers and bands for live performances. Visitors are encouraged to dance along with the lively music and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the activities.
