Shuixian Temple (Commercial Association Hall during Japanese Occupation) Introduction

Main Deity: Water Immortal Festival Date: 10th day of the 10th lunar month The Shuixian Temple (Shuixian Palace) in the Xia County Cultural Center is one of the four ancient temples in Penghu, dedicated to deities including Dayu, Wu Yuan, Qu Yuan, Wang Bo, and Li Bai, among others. In the 36th year of the Kangxi reign (1697), Assistant Governor Yu Yonghe inspected Taiwan and, encountering a storm, relied on "paddling to the Water Immortal" (a term used for shipwreck survivors paddling with both hands from the side of the ship) to arrive safely in Penghu; he then ordered the militia leader Xue Kui to build the temple in their honor.
