Hailin Temple Introduction
Main Deity: King Su Festival Date: 21st day of the 4th lunar month. In the 17th year of the Daoguang era, a sculpture was carved in Xiamen and enshrined in the local Ksitigarbha Temple. This was to commemorate foreign officials who had passed away in the local area. The King later demonstrated his divine power, prompting the local disciples to build a temple here. In the 11th year of the Tongzhi era, the wife of Chief Examiner Cheng Haifang fell ill. Hearing about the spiritual inspiration of the King, she prayed and was granted a good remedy that cured her. As a result, a plaque was respectfully offered in gratitude, and the temple was constructed in the same year.
