Hailin Temple Introduction
Main deity: King Su Festival date: 21st day of the 4th lunar month. In the 17th year of the Qing Emperor Daoguang, a statue was carved in Xiamen and was later enshrined in the Ksitigarbha Temple of this village. This was for foreign officials coming to Penghu who had passed away here. The deity later displayed great divine power, prompting the disciples of this village to build a temple at this location. In the 11th year of the Tongzhi era, the wife of magistrate Cheng Haifang suffered from illness; upon hearing of the deity's spiritual efficacy, she prayed and was granted a good remedy, offering a plaque in gratitude, and the temple was constructed in the same year.
