Hailing Temple Introduction
Main deity worshiped: Wang Ye of Su Mansion Festival date: The 21st day of the 4th lunar month In the 17th year of the reign of Daoguang, a statue was sculpted in Xiamen and is enshrined in the Western Ksitigarbha Temple of this village. It serves as a protector for foreign officials coming to Penghu and those who pass away in this area. Later, the deity manifested great spiritual power, prompting the disciples to build a temple here. In the 11th year of the reign of Tongzhi, the wife of the judge Cheng Haifang suffered from an illness and, upon hearing of the deity’s miraculous powers, prayed for a remedy and was granted a good prescription for healing, presenting an inscribed plaque in gratitude to the deity. The temple was established in the same year.
